QR Verification™ is the customer-access layer of the AgriTrace™ ecosystem, allowing authorized users to scan a unique QR code and verify the provenance, authenticity, and traceability record of a TerraForestry™-linked product.

How QR Verification™ Works

1. UNIQUE QR CODE
Each approved product batch, and where appropriate each individual product, receives a unique QR-linked identifier.

2. SCAN
The customer scans the QR code using a smartphone.

3. VERIFY
The system retrieves the corresponding AgriTrace™ Product Provenance™ record.

4. TRACE
The customer can view approved provenance information:

Product → Processing Batch → Harvest Lot → Farm Block → Plantation Origin

5. AUTHENTICATE
The system confirms whether the QR identity corresponds to a valid registered product record.

The amount of information disclosed can be controlled according to the company’s commercial and regulatory requirements.

Anti-Counterfeit Layer

QR Verification™ can help identify suspicious products by checking:

  • Valid product ID
  • Valid batch number
  • QR-to-product relationship
  • Registration status
  • Activation status
  • Scan history
  • Duplicate or abnormal scan activity

A suspicious or invalid QR can generate a warning such as:

This product identity could not be validated. Please contact the authorized brand representative.

QR verification should be treated as one authentication layer, rather than proof of authenticity by itself; stronger systems can combine it with serialized IDs, tamper-evident packaging, secure databases, and other authentication technologies.
