Building the Biological Foundation of Every TerraForestry™ Plantation
The nursery is the starting point of the TerraForestry™ production system. Our approach focuses on producing healthy, uniform, traceable, and field-ready planting materials suited to the specific agroforestry environment.
Our Nursery & Propagation System
1. Quality Planting Materials
TerraForestry™ prioritizes planting materials with:
- Verified species identity
- Healthy root systems
- Good vegetative development
- Appropriate size and maturity
- Disease and pest monitoring
- Traceable source records
- Field-performance selection
For agarwood, this provides the foundation for developing productive, resilient Aquilaria plantations.
2. Propagation Platform
The nursery can integrate multiple propagation approaches depending on species and production requirements:
Seed Propagation
For species where high-quality seed is available.
Vegetative Propagation
For selected plants where maintaining desirable characteristics is important.
Micropropagation / Tissue Culture
For scalable production of selected, disease-managed planting materials where technically and economically appropriate.
The objective is quality and consistency at commercial scale, rather than simply maximizing seedling numbers.
3. Traceable Nursery Production
Each production batch can be assigned a digital identity through AgriTrace™.
Records can include:
Mother/Source Material → Propagation Batch → Nursery Block → Seedling → Field Planting → Plantation Block
This creates a continuous chain of identity from nursery to plantation.
4. Nursery Nutrition & Plant Health
Nursery management integrates appropriate:
- Growing media
- Nutrient management
- Water management
- Root development
- Biological soil management
- Pest and disease monitoring
- Hardening protocols
BioGrow™ and BioControl™ can form part of the biological management platform, subject to appropriate product validation and regulatory requirements.
5. Hardening & Field Preparation
Before planting, seedlings undergo progressive acclimatization to field conditions.
The goal is to produce plants capable of transitioning from:
Protected Nursery Environment → Field Environment
with minimal transplant stress.

Commercial Nursery Architecture
A scalable TerraForestry™ nursery can be organized into:
| Nursery Zone | Function |
|---|---|
| Mother/Source Area | Maintain approved source materials |
| Propagation Area | Seed and vegetative propagation |
| Germination Area | Early establishment |
| Growing Area | Seedling development |
| Plant Health Area | Monitoring and biological management |
| Hardening Area | Field acclimatization |
| QC & Grading Area | Selection and classification |
| Dispatch Area | Packing and field distribution |
Our Standard
We don’t plant seedlings. We establish future plantation assets.
Every planting material should begin with identity, quality, traceability, and a defined role within the plantation design.
