Digital Traceability

Digital traceability is the system that connects every TerraForestry™ plantation asset—from planting material to tree, farm block, harvest, processing and finished product—into one verifiable digital record.

The objective is simple:

Know where it came from. Know how it was grown. Know what happened to it. Know where it went.

1. Planting Material Traceability

The digital record begins before the tree reaches the plantation.

Each planting batch can record:

  • Species
  • Source
  • Propagation method
  • Nursery
  • Production batch
  • Date produced
  • Quality assessment
  • Health status
  • Destination plantation

For selected high-value planting material, this creates a digital identity from nursery to field.

2. Digital Tree Identity

Every important tree—or defined representative population—can receive a unique Tree ID.

Example:

CAPI-AM-001-2026-000127

The ID can link to:

  • Species
  • Genetic/planting-material information where appropriate
  • Nursery batch
  • Planting date
  • Farm
  • Block
  • GPS/GIS location
  • Health observations
  • Growth measurements
  • Management activities
  • Treatments
  • Harvest status

Every tree becomes a documented biological asset.

3. Farm-Block Traceability

Trees are organized into digitally defined plantation blocks.

Each block can contain:

  • Block ID
  • Coordinates/polygon
  • Area
  • Species
  • Tree count
  • Planting density
  • Establishment date
  • Soil information
  • Management history
  • Production status

This creates a digital map of the plantation.

4. GIS & Remote Monitoring

TerraForestry™ can combine digital records with:

  • GIS mapping
  • Satellite imagery
  • Drone imagery
  • Field photography
  • Remote sensing
  • Digital surveys

This allows management to monitor changes in:

Tree cover → Growth → Health → Damage → Environmental conditions

over time.

5. Farm Management Records

Every significant plantation activity can be digitally recorded.

Examples

Nutrition

  • Product/input
  • Application date
  • Rate
  • Block
  • Operator

Plant Protection

  • Problem identified
  • Intervention
  • Date
  • Location
  • Result

Maintenance

  • Weeding
  • Pruning
  • Mulching
  • Irrigation
  • Fire prevention

This creates an auditable plantation activity history.

6. Biological Development Records

For crops such as agarwood, TerraForestry™ can record the development process without relying on undocumented field practices.

Records may include:

  • Tree identification
  • Treatment protocol
  • Date
  • Application location
  • Batch/lot number
  • Operator
  • Environmental conditions
  • Observations
  • Monitoring results
  • Harvest status

For CAPI’s biological resin-development programs, this provides the foundation for field validation, quality control and research data.

7. Harvest Traceability

At harvest, the tree identity is converted into a harvest identity.

Example:

Tree ID → Harvest Batch ID

The harvest record can include:

  • Tree/block
  • Harvest date
  • Weight
  • Material category
  • Grade
  • Operator
  • Location
  • Regulatory documentation
  • Photographic evidence
  • Chain-of-custody information

This is particularly valuable for high-value agarwood.

8. Batch Traceability

After harvesting, raw materials can be assigned batch numbers.

For example:

AGW-2029-BLK07-B001

The batch can be linked to:

  • Estate
  • Farm block
  • Tree IDs
  • Harvest date
  • Raw-material weight
  • Grade
  • Storage
  • Processing destination

This prevents the raw material from becoming disconnected from its origin.

9. Processing Traceability

When raw material enters processing, a new processing record is created.

Example

Harvest Batch
↓
Drying Batch
↓
Sorting Batch
↓
Distillation Batch
↓
Oud Oil Batch

This establishes a documented mass-balance relationship between inputs and outputs.

10. Product Traceability

The final product can retain the history of its agricultural origin.

For example:

Premium Oud Oil

Product ID
↓
Extraction Batch
↓
Agarwood Harvest Batch
↓
Farm Block
↓
Tree Population / Tree IDs
↓
TerraForestry™ Estate
↓
Planting Material

This allows the finished product to carry a genuine farm-to-bottle provenance story, provided the underlying records are complete and verified.

11. QR-Based Consumer Verification

A future TerraForestry™ product could carry a QR code.

Consumer scans:

“Trace This Product”

The system could display:

Origin

TerraForestry™ Estate — Philippines

Species

Aquilaria spp.

Plantation

Estate / Block identification

Harvest

Batch and harvest information

Processing

Processing / extraction batch

Sustainability

Applicable verified project information

Quality

Relevant laboratory or quality information

The public interface should disclose appropriate information while protecting confidential farm and commercial data.

12. Digital Chain of Custody

The system can establish a continuous chain:

ORIGIN Where was it grown?
↓
IDENTITY Which tree/block produced it?
↓
CULTIVATION How was it managed?
↓
HARVEST When and how was it harvested?
↓
PROCESSING How was it transformed?
↓
PRODUCT What finished product resulted?
↓
MARKET Where was it sold?

This is the foundation of verifiable provenance.

13. ESG Traceability

Digital traceability also becomes the information backbone of TerraForestry™ ESG reporting.

Environmental

  • Trees planted
  • Survival rate
  • Land area
  • Tree cover
  • Soil indicators
  • Water indicators
  • Biodiversity areas
  • Carbon/biomass measurements where appropriately verified

Social

  • Workers
  • Training
  • Employment
  • Farmer participation
  • Community activities

Governance

  • Compliance documents
  • Farm inspections
  • Treatment records
  • Harvest records
  • Chain of custody
  • Audits

14. Investor Transparency

For participating plantation projects, an authorized investor dashboard could provide:

Estate Performance

  • Hectares
  • Trees planted
  • Survival
  • Growth
  • Development stage

Project Progress

  • Completed activities
  • Current activities
  • Upcoming activities

Biological Assets

  • Tree population
  • Development stage
  • Harvest planning

ESG

  • Environmental indicators
  • Social indicators
  • Governance/compliance indicators

Financial Reporting

  • Approved project expenditures
  • Budget vs. actual
  • Project milestones
  • Harvest and sales reporting

This should provide transparency without presenting projections as guaranteed financial returns.

15. Data Architecture

The TerraForestry™ digital system can be structured around six interconnected databases:

             TERRAFORSTRY™ DIGITAL PLATFORM
                         │
       ┌─────────────────┼─────────────────┐

       │ │ │
       └─────────────────┼─────────────────┘

                         │
                  DIGITAL PROVENANCE

16. Blockchain — Where Appropriate

Blockchain can potentially be used as an additional tamper-evident verification layer, but it should not be treated as a substitute for good data collection.

The priority should be:

Accurate field data

→ Controlled data entry

→ Quality assurance

→ Audit trail

→ Secure database

→ Optional blockchain anchoring

Principle:

Blockchain cannot make inaccurate data truthful.

The quality of TerraForestry™ traceability ultimately depends on the quality of the underlying plantation records and verification procedures.

17. TerraForestry™ + AgriTrace™

Digital traceability can become the bridge between CAPI’s upstream plantation operations and its downstream businesses.

                     AGRITRACE™
                          │
             ┌────────────┼────────────┐

             │ │ │
             └────────────┼────────────┘
                          │

                          │
                    QR PROVENANCE

This creates a single digital identity across the value chain.
